Kathleen Theresa Ramsey composes and performs improvised music that has few restraints or pre-conceived notions with a focus on layering textures and feelings as they arrive naturally to her. Common live instrumentation includes harp and a synth or two over dreamy downtempo ambient beats. Guided by intuition and spontaneity, her music is intended as freely shared sound for healing and calm, fostering connection on a deeper level for listeners and for herself.
She draws inspiration from Alice Coltrane, Lonnie Liston Smith, Bach, Ravel, Bill Evans, Allan Holdsworth, Sonny Sharrock, Brian Eno, David Gilmour, Robert Fripp, Miles Davis, Matthew Halsall, Nils Frahm, Chihei Hatakeyama, Jeff Schroeder, Emma Ruth Rundle, Floating Points, John Abercrombie, Terje Rypdal, Steve Roach, et al.
Ramsey also composes and performs for her dream pop project Rose Haze.
